We’ve talked in length about Mike Flanagan being the new Stephen King guy in horror as of late. He’s working on THE DARK TOWER as well as THE MIST, and in October he will be bringing Carrie to the prom for a new limited series, and today we got a new look at the troubled teen with a brand new poster.
Now we know high school can be a drag, but going to school with Carrie White can be downright KILLER.
Played by Summer H. Howell, Carrie hovers above the chaos below her, surrounded by destruction as she appears almost angelic against the madness unfolding behind her. It is a fitting image for a character who has always existed somewhere between innocence and absolute terror.
Based on Stephen King’s landmark 1974 debut novel, Flanagan’s eight episode limited series puts Carrie back in the spotlight, but this time we’re getting considerably more room to explore the story. Carrie is a lonely teenager who has spent her life isolated by her domineering mother, Margaret White. After the death of her father, Carrie is thrown into the brutal world of public high school, where bullying, humiliation and the discovery of her telekinetic abilities begin pushing her toward a breaking point.
The new series features a seriously stacked cast, including Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Totah as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.
Flanagan is also surrounding himself with plenty of familiar faces. Michael Trucco, Crystal Balint, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Tim Bagley and Heather Graham are among the recurring guest stars, giving the series that unmistakable Flanagan connection we’ve come to expect from his work.

Flanagan serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer, with King also executive producing. Flanagan directs four episodes, while Kate Siegel, Axelle Carolyn, Kyra Sedgwick and Hiromi Kamata each take the helm for an episode.
If anyone understands how to dig into the darker corners of King’s work, Flanagan certainly has plenty of experience doing it.
All eight episodes of CARRIE will premiere Wednesday, October 7, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
