It’s been a while since we’ve had a good old-fashioned killer doll scaring things up in the horror genre. Yes, we all love Chucky and Tiffany, but maybe it’s time for a new kid on the block. A doll possessed by the spirit of real-life serial killer and necrophile Jeffrey Dahmer, though? That might be taking the killer-doll thing a little too far.
Then again, this is horror, so naturally someone made the movie.
Uncork’d Entertainment has set a November 3 Digital and On Demand release for JEFFREY DOLLMER, a new horror/slasher that takes the familiar possessed-doll setup and gives it a particularly notorious twist. The film imagines Dahmer’s spirit trapped inside a doll, eventually finding its way back into the world and bringing a whole lot of murder along with it.

FROM THE PRESS RELEASE: The film’s story begins in 1991, when Dahmer discovers a doll and performs a ritual intended to transfer his spirit into it. His plans are interrupted when he is captured before completing the ritual, leaving the doll behind.
For decades, the object remains locked away as police evidence. Eventually, the doll is discarded, making its way back into the world where it presumably has no business being.
Naturally, someone ends up summoning the spirit.
The doll soon attaches itself to a young model who bears a resemblance to its former owner. When she heads to a remote location for a photo shoot, the possessed doll comes along for the ride, turning what should be a professional gig into an isolated killing ground as it begins stalking the other models and crew members.
That puts JEFFREY DOLLMER in some considerably darker territory than your standard possessed-toy movie. The killer-doll subgenre has given us everything from Child’s Play to Dolls, Puppet Master and countless other creepy little creations. Giving one the identity and spirit of a real murderer is certainly a way to make the concept stand out.
Mark Savage, director of Purgatory Road, helms the film from a screenplay by John Doolan (Popeye the Slayer Man, Remains) and Jeff Miller (Clowntown, Ouija House). Miller also serves as producer, with the story based on his original concept.
The cast includes Charlie Trepany, Chey Crieger, Juliana Destefano, Adam Huss, Eva Hamilton, Tom Parnell and Brian Joseph Mange as Jeffrey Dahmer. Final Destination creator Jeffrey Reddick also makes a cameo appearance.
JEFFREY DOLLMER arrives on Digital and On Demand November 3 from Uncork’d Entertainment.
