CRYSTAL LAKE -- Pictured: Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees -- (Photo by: Peacock)

We’ve been eager to see where Peacock’s new Friday the 13th prequel Crystal Lake will take us, and it looks like one thing’s for sure: it’s gonna be bloody as all hell.

A new NSFW sneak peek from the upcoming series gives us a brief look at Pamela Voorhees, played by Linda Cardellini, and let’s just say this isn’t exactly the warm and fuzzy version of Jason’s mom. In the clip, Pam is covered in blood as she shakily attempts to remove an embedded tooth from her knuckle.

Yeah, we’re going to go ahead and assume things are about to get considerably worse.

All episodes of Crystal Lake premiere Thursday, October 15, exclusively on Peacock.

The series takes us back to the years before Pamela Voorhees became one of the most infamous killers in slasher history. Pam is a single mother still struggling with the death of her young, sickly son Jason, who tragically drowned in Crystal Lake almost a year earlier.

When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door and begin digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events begins to unfold, leaving the residents of Crystal Lake asking a pretty important question: just who is Pam Voorhees?

Callum Vinson, who appeared in Chucky, plays young Jason in the series, which is set to explore the origins of the masked killer who would eventually become one of horror’s most recognizable slashers.

The cast also includes William Catlett (Abigail), Cameron Scoggins (Nashville), Devin Kessler (Godfather of Harlem), Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Nick Cordileone (Warrior), Joy Suprano (Fleishman Is in Trouble), Danielle Kotch (Sinister), Christopher Denham (Shining Girls), Nancy Nagrant (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and Phoenix Parnevik.

Brad Caleb Kane, who serves as showrunner, has described Crystal Lake as a “mixtape of genre,” with different characters seemingly existing within different types of stories before eventually colliding with Pam’s world.

Kane has also made it clear that Crystal Lake is “100 percent” still a slasher, despite the series exploring different genres and expanding the mythology surrounding the Voorhees family. The story is also set during the 1970s, taking the series back to a very different era of horror.

Fans can expect some familiar faces and references to the Friday the 13th mythology as well. Crazy Ralph is set to return, while previous footage has suggested there may be considerably more going on with Jason’s condition than audiences initially realized.

Now this new footage is giving us a little more insight into his mother, and judging by the blood, whatever is happening around Pam isn’t going to be pretty.

The eight-episode series is directed by Michael Lennox (Derry Girls), Celine Held and Logan George (Caddo Lake) and Quyen Tran (The Pitt).
