Let’s be honest, streaming services have turned a lot of viewers into spoiled brats. We get an endless supply of movies and shows, yet October often means throwing a bunch of recognizable IPs onto a service and calling it a Halloween lineup. Quantity is easy. Finding something that actually feels like Halloween is a different story.
That’s where Shudder continues to stand out.
The horror focused streamer has spent years building a lineup that goes well beyond the usual studio leftovers, mixing original movies and series with international horror, cult classics, documentaries and some wonderfully weird stuff. Now Shudder has unleashed its full October 2026 lineup, and Halloween month is looking pretty damn busy.
October kicks off with a serious stack of horror favorites, including Alice, Sweet Alice, Alone in the Dark, Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, Haunt, Insidious, Lake Mungo, The Lords of Salem, Session 9, The Descent, The Endless, The Haunting and Twilight Zone: The Movie. That’s before we even get into the new stuff.
October 1 also brings Curse of the Ghoul Logs, a new Shudder Original Special from the filmmakers behind Hallowarrior. The hour long special puts multiple jack o’ lanterns front and center for a creepy seasonal watch.
Then things get weird.
On October 9, V/H/S/Mixtape arrives as the latest entry in the long running found footage franchise. This time, music and sound become the source of terror, with segments from Ernest Dickerson, RZA, David Moreau and Renee Zhan, whose segment features original puppets from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. Flying Lotus and Tobias Forge also contribute music video segments, while GWAR makes an appearance because apparently the mixtape needed to get even more chaotic.

October 16 brings Hallowarrior, starring Milly Shapiro as Pumpkin, the last girl on Earth following a humanity ending plague. Her Halloween night gets interrupted when a group of raiders arrives, forcing her to fight for survival using whatever candy, weapons and ingenuity she can find.
Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl get in on the Halloween action October 23 with Joe Bob’s Halloween House Party, while The Cycle also premieres that day.
The month keeps rolling with the FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards on October 25, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula Season 7 on October 27 and Big Baby on October 30. The latter comes from director Spider One and is executive produced by Cher, following a horror writer whose fictional killer may be far more real than he realizes.
Finally, Halloween night brings Hunting Matthew Nichols, a Shudder Exclusive about a filmmaker investigating the mysterious disappearance of her brother two decades earlier.
