It seems like outdoor events and big festivals are happening more and more, bringing many together to celebrate what we enjoy. This could be film festivals, music festivals or what the folks over at EPIC are presenting: huge interactive events for people of all ages and interests. EPIC Entertainment Group is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and the company is marking the occasion with a packed lineup of Halloween, holiday and year round experiences across the country. For those of us here in California, there are a couple of events that definitely stand out.
At Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier, EPIC is bringing back its Halloween funhouse, an approximately 2,800 square foot experience filled with nine interactive rooms, optical illusions, special effects and plenty of opportunities to get turned around. The attraction also works in some of the history of the famous pier, giving visitors something to explore beyond the usual scares.
Down in San Diego County, EPIC is once again helping transform the Hotel del Coronado for the holidays. The resort’s “A Holiday Through Time” celebration runs Nov. 22 through Jan. 3 and will include a new Holiday Lodge inside the historic Laundry building, along with its Lightshow Spectacular and a collection of 11 custom Christmas trees.
If you’ve ever wondered what goes into creating some of the larger Halloween and holiday attractions around the country, EPIC’s work stretches far beyond California. The company is returning for its fifth year at Hersheypark Dark Nights in Pennsylvania, where it handles casting, costuming, makeup and talent management. This year also brings the new Reese’s Depot of Doom attraction.
In Miami, EPIC is working with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden on its Garden of Shadows Halloween event as well as its Very Merry Garden holiday celebration. The company is also returning to Hawaii, where it is helping create the holiday experience at The Ritz Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay with new lighting and decorations alongside returning favorites, including wagon rides and moss honu displays.
EPIC Entertainment Group was founded in 2016 by Charity Hill and Steve Sheldon, and after a decade of creating immersive experiences, the company has built a pretty extensive footprint. Halloween may be the specialty that catches our attention here at TrulyDisturbing, but its work now covers everything from seasonal celebrations to large-scale interactive attractions.
