Ever since the credits rolled on season one of ALIEN: EARTH, we’ve been wondering what our favorite Xenomorph talking half breed friends are up to. FX has finally tossed us a tiny bone, releasing a brief behind the scenes clip confirming that production on season two of Noah Hawley‘s hit series is well underway.
There isn’t much to see, but after months of waiting, we’ll gladly take it. The footage offers a quick glimpse at the production while giving us our first indication that FX is beginning to crank up the promotional machine for the next chapter.

The first season was set in the year 2120, where five powerful corporations have effectively become the world’s superpowers and technological advancements promise a shiny new future. Naturally, this is ALIEN, so that future gets complicated when a mysterious spacecraft crashes on Earth and a young woman and a group of tactical soldiers discover something that puts them face to face with one of the planet’s greatest threats.
Hawley has already teased that season two “certainly expands on the promise of the first” while describing it as “a bigger show, more world-building.” That should be particularly interesting after season one expanded the ALIEN mythology beyond the familiar spaceships and isolated colonies we’ve come to expect from the franchise.
The returning cast includes Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Essie Davis, Lily Newmark, Erana James, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Kit Young, Diêm Camille, Moe Bar El and Sandra Yi Sencindiver.
Season two is also bringing in some major new additions, with Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones) and Peter Dinklage (The Toxic Avenger) joining the cast.
For now, this is strictly a production update rather than a major reveal. Still, it confirms that ALIEN: EARTH season two is moving forward, and we can probably expect FX to start throwing more footage, images and other promotional goodies at us as production continues.
