We’re going to go on record now and say that CD Projeckt Red are far too good to us, and we love them for it.
At Gamescom 2026 CDPR showcased the new Witcher III expansion “Songs of the Past”. But they didn’t just stop at showing off the new DLC. They also announced that The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt will be getting a remastered version that does a numerous amount of updates, overhauls and quality of life fixes. And the remaster is FREE! No nickel and diming here. If you own the game, it’s upgraded for free. At this risk of sounding like a midnight infomercial – But wait, that’s not all!” – They also announced, in my humble opinion, a shocking move, that if you own the base game of the Witcher III and didn’t buy the two DLC packs 2015’s Heart of Stone and 2016’s Blood and Wine, you now get them also for FREE!

There has never been a better time to dive back into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, either for the first time or for the hundredth, especially to tide us all over before the connecting DLC “Songs of the Past” comes out and lays out how Ciri takes the mantle as the titular Witcher.
The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt Remastered Trailer
Since The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt and the two expansions released 10+ years ago and obviously a decade before Truly Disturbing was covering the game, this is more for those who may have skipped it or are just as excited as we are about revisiting the epic, open world fantasy.
The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt follows the titular Witcher, Geralt of Rivia. This is approximately six months after the events of The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings. Geralt, alongside Triss, Yennifer, Dandelion, Roach, Ciri and many others must join forces battling the impending assault of The Wild Hunt. The Wild Hunt are a group of spectral wraiths galloping through the sky in undead steads and their main goal is to hunt down Ciri for her powers as an Elder Blood.
It’s impossible to overstate just how great this game is and that it’s a must play. We feel that maybe a proper review of the complete experience is in order to fully grasp it.
