Back in 2022, Konami shocked the world with the first “Silent Hill Transmission”, which we now know serves as an official announcement showcase for everything related to the “Silent Hill” franchise. Before that, Konami had all but sidelined the series following the cancellation of Hideo Kojima’s “Silent Hills” project, better known as “P.T.”, the removal of the demo from the PlayStation 4 online store, and a noticeable shift away from releasing AAA titles in favor of “Silent Hill” themed pachinko machines.
During that first Transmission, we learned about Bloober Team’s “Silent Hill 2″ remake, that NeoBards was developing a new mainline entry written by Ryukishi07 titled “Silent Hill f”, and a mysterious project known as “Silent Hill: Townfall”.
Since then, there had been little to no information about Townfall. That changed on February 12, when the latest Transmission focused entirely on the game. We learned that it is being developed by Screen Burn Interactive, formerly known as No Code, and co-published by Annapurna Interactive and Konami. The game will feature a first-person perspective, a mini CRTV device, and melee combat. Traditional weapons such as bats, pipes, and wooden planks will also be available.

Story details remain understandably limited. What we do know is that the game is set on the fictional Scottish island of St. Amelia. Players take on the role of Simon Ordell, who awakens on the seemingly abandoned island with no memory of how he arrived. The small town is shrouded in thick fog and carries an oppressive atmosphere. Simon’s only clues are a medical wrist tag, an IV bag, and a CRTV device he discovers early on.
Like previous Silent Hill titles, the story is expected to explore difficult themes such as trauma, loss, death, abuse, and other sensitive subject matter. Given Simon’s medical wristband and IV, it is reasonable to assume that illness will play a significant role. The bigger questions remain: Will this impact gameplay? Will players need to manage their condition outside of combat and standard injuries? Or is the illness purely a narrative device? Hopefully, Konami will address some of these questions in the next Transmission.
Silent Hill: Townfall is currently available to wishlist on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
