Today (10/9) at New York Comic Con during BlumFest, fans were treated to a new trailer for The Exorcist: Martyrs.

The trailer shows Scarlett Johansson as Detective Julie Miller investigating a brutal murder of a 15 year old altar boy in a church. As she is speaking with Father William played by Chiwetel Ejiofor she explains to him how most of the prolific serial killers in America have claimed to have been possessed by The Devil and he is the cause of their actions. The priest then recites a passage from the bible when a man names himself Legion.

The trailer also showcases who’s who in Hollywood. Martyrs also stars Laurence Fishburne, John Leguizamo, Kate Siegel, Diane Lane and many more.

When Mike Flanagan was announced as the new writer/ director for the upcoming Exorcist film, most took a collective sigh of relief. Especially after the lackluster The Exorcist: Believer from 2018’s Halloween director, David Gordon Green.
