Deadites are coming back to the big screen, and if the final trailer for Evil Dead Burn is any indication, they are bringing absolute hell with them.
With tickets now officially on sale ahead of the film’s July 10 release, audiences finally have their best look yet at what director Sébastien Vaniček has cooked up for the next chapter in one of horror’s most consistently brutal franchises. The footage wastes little time getting to the good stuff, serving up blood soaked glimpses of possession, shattered family bonds, and the kind of relentless chaos Evil Dead fans have come to expect.
What stands out most about Burn is how personal the nightmare appears to be.
Rather than dropping audiences into another isolated cabin scenario, the film centers on a woman seeking comfort with her late husband’s family following a devastating loss. That search for healing quickly spirals into a waking nightmare as family members begin falling victim to Deadite possession, transforming what should have been a place of refuge into a battleground for survival.

The setup feels perfectly suited for Evil Dead. This franchise has always thrived when it takes familiar relationships and twists them into something horrifying. Watching strangers get torn apart is one thing. Watching loved ones become monsters is where Evil Dead has always found its cruelest moments and in most cases, it’s funniest. Remember, The Evil Dead franchise sits on this “its so messed up its funny” line of morality and violence that has many gasping in shock and others cracking up from the sheer insanity.
We’re also intrigued by recent comments from star Hunter Doohan, who hinted that Burn may contain connections to the larger Evil Dead mythology. Whether those links are major story elements or simply clever nods for longtime fans remains to be seen, but with Sam Raimi producing and Bruce Campbell serving as an executive producer, we’d be shocked if there weren’t a few surprises waiting in the shadows.
No, we’re not necessarily talking about Ash Williams showing up with a boomstick. Campbell has made it clear over the years that he’s stepped away from portraying the character. That said, Evil Dead has always been packed with hidden references, callbacks, and easter eggs, and we’d fully expect Raimi and company to leave a few treats behind for fans paying attention.
Vaniček arrives at the franchise after turning heads with Infested, a film that proved he understands how to make audiences uncomfortable in all the right ways. Judging by the final trailer, that same energy appears alive and well in Evil Dead Burn, which is already being positioned as one of the franchise’s most savage entries to date.
The film stars Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Errol Shand, and Maude Davey. Vaniček co-wrote the screenplay alongside Florent Bernard, with longtime franchise architects Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert producing.
After more than four decades of chainsaws, blood, and demonic mayhem, Evil Dead continues to find new ways to drag audiences into the darkness. We’ll find out just how far Burn is willing to go when it tears into theaters on July 10.
