Fairy tales are a lot darker than we often remember. Death, twisted monsters and grim lessons have always been part of these stories, but what happens when someone takes that darkness a little too far? The upcoming indie horror film EVER AFTER turns familiar storybook characters into a blood-soaked fight for survival, backed by a lineup of recognizable horror favorites.
Available exclusively On Demand starting October 27, 2026, the film stars Mark Sheppard (Supernatural), Bonnie Aarons (The Nun), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange).

Written and directed by Laszlo Illes (Haunting Trophies, The Shepherd), EVER AFTER follows a group of friends who travel to a remote forest lodge for a bachelorette weekend. Their getaway quickly turns into a nightmare when they discover the surrounding woods are home to violent fanatics who believe they are living out the roles of fairy tale heroes and villains.
Little Red Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf, the Evil Witch and Prince Charming all emerge in terrifying new forms. Forget the childhood versions of these characters. Here, storybook mythology becomes the backdrop for a brutal struggle to stay alive.
With practical creature effects, large-scale set pieces and a cast packed with genre veterans, EVER AFTER looks to take familiar folklore somewhere considerably nastier. The concept taps into something horror fans have known for years: the original fairy tales were rarely as sweet as their modern adaptations made them seem.
The film arrives On Demand October 27, just in time for Halloween. For fans who enjoy their folklore with a generous helping of bloodshed, this twisted fairy tale may be worth adding to the watchlist.
