There is something about heading into the woods with a group of friends that horror movies have taught us to question. Camp Night is the latest film to take that familiar setup and turn a weekend getaway into a fight for survival.
Breaking Glass Pictures will release Camp Night, a new horror thriller from writer and director Isaiah Russell, on Oct. 13, 2026.

Official Synopsis: The film follows five friends from Chicago who head into the woods for a camping trip with their coworkers. What begins as an opportunity to escape the everyday grind quickly takes a darker turn when the group discovers that the legend surrounding their destination is not simply something people tell around a campfire.
Camp Night blends slasher and survival horror with mystery, dark comedy and action, while also exploring the consequences of trauma passed down through generations. Russell says the workplace relationships between the characters provide the reason everyone agrees to make the trip, only for those relationships to be tested once survival becomes the priority.
“The workplace relationships were the catalyst for everyone to agree to go to the woods for this camping trip,” Russell said. “However, when they get there, they discover the boundaries of that group dynamic.”
The cast includes Lonnie Davis, Aniah Davis, Brendan Mertens, Casey Brockway, Dina Aldabbagh, Eric Jacobson, Gavin Zbynski, Marlissa Stalling, Heaven Williams, Kareen Noble, Lawrence Mead and Tyra Renee.
The filmmakers are positioning Camp Night for fans of movies such as The Cabin in the Woods, Wrong Turn, The Ritual, Get Out and Candyman. While the basic ingredients may sound familiar, the film uses its mysterious legend and themes of generational trauma to put another spin on the friends in the woods formula.
That combination could make Camp Night an interesting addition to the October horror lineup, especially for anyone who enjoys their camping trips with a healthy dose of mystery, monsters and people making questionable decisions far from civilization.
Breaking Glass Pictures CEO Richard Wolff says the company believes Russell has found a way to respect the traditions of the genre while pushing the story in a new direction.
“We are thrilled to bring Camp Night to horror fans this October,” Wolff said. “Isaiah has made a film that respects the genre’s traditions while pushing them somewhere new, and with a cast and story this bold, we think it’s going to find a devoted audience fast.”
Camp Night arrives Oct. 13 on Amazon and Fandango, followed by a Tubi release on Dec. 10.
