When we attended San Diego Comic Con earlier this year, Hot Toys was for sure a booth we had to stop by, and they did not disappoint. As usual, we gravitated towards the horror and sci-fi releases from the company and found some amazing ALIENS figures that were slated for release next year. Among them was the epic Power Loader from the climax of Aliens. The Power Loader looks spot on from what was seen on screen in Aliens, and the Ripley figure is probably the best build and look we have seen ever for the character. Hot Toys doesn’t skimp on quality, and these are definitely going to be great additions to any Aliens fan’s collection.
Now fans can bring that legendary showdown home because preorders have opened for Hot Toys’ new Aliens Power Loader 1/6 scale collectible, along with a larger set that pairs the loader with a brand new Ellen Ripley figure.
The Power Loader is an absolute beast of a collectible, standing approximately 51.5 centimeters tall and measuring about 37 centimeters long by 32 centimeters wide. Built with more than 18 points of articulation, the massive display piece features articulated arms, legs and claws, along with an opening protective roll cage, movable joysticks and a detailed operator seat complete with a functional harness.
Hot Toys has also added weathering effects throughout the mechanical structure, along with realistic wiring and USB powered LED lighting in the warning beacon and inside the roll cage. Most importantly, the loader is designed to accommodate the 1/6 scale Ellen Ripley figure, meaning collectors can recreate one of the most memorable final confrontations in science fiction history right on their shelf.
The standalone Power Loader is priced at $405, with an expected release window of the third or fourth quarter of 2027.
FROM THE PRESS RELEASE: For collectors who want the complete package, Hot Toys is also offering an Ellen Ripley and Power Loader set priced at $555. The Ripley figure stands approximately 30 centimeters tall and features a newly sculpted head with separate rolling eyeballs and blood effects, along with a silicone upper body designed to create a more seamless appearance around her exposed shoulders and arms.
Her battle-damaged appearance is recreated with a weathered white T-shirt, gray tank top, light blue-gray pants, Reebok Alien Stompers and the grenade harness worn during the film’s final act. Hot Toys even includes a removable dark gray sock, allowing collectors to recreate the moment when Ripley’s shoe is ripped away during her desperate battle with the Alien Queen.
The Ripley figure also includes eight interchangeable hands for different display options, including hands designed for holding the Power Loader’s joysticks and weapons. A specially designed metal grating themed display base completes the figure.
Both collectibles are being offered as part of Hot Toys’ celebration of the 40th anniversary of James Cameron’s Aliens, and if you saw the Power Loader at Comic Con this year, you already know just how impressive this thing looks in person.
