Just when you thought you could finally escape the Reverse Bear Trap, Lionsgate is opening the bathroom door again.
The Saw franchise continues its march into the 4K era this fall, with Saw V, Saw VI and Saw VII each receiving individual 4K UHD, Blu ray and Digital releases on Nov. 10, 2026. Preorders for all three titles open Sept. 29, giving fans plenty of time to prepare their shelves for another round of Jigsaw’s favorite brand of therapy.
Rather than bundling the films together, Lionsgate is giving each installment its own release. All three editions include both the theatrical and extended or unrated versions, along with previously released bonus material and new Blu ray extras focusing on the filmmakers behind each movie.
The run begins with Saw V, directed by David Hackl. Released in 2008, the film shifts much of the attention toward Detective Mark Hoffman as his connection to Jigsaw’s legacy becomes increasingly difficult to hide. Meanwhile, five strangers find themselves trapped in a series of interconnected tests where cooperation is the key to survival.
The new release adds two pieces of material centered on Hackl: “Establishing Shot with Director David Hackl” and “Everybody Deserves a Chance: David Hackl on SAW V.” The returning collection includes commentary tracks, behind the scenes material, interviews and featurettes dedicated to some of the film’s nastier creations, including the Pendulum, Cube and Coffin traps.
Next up is Saw VI, with Kevin Greutert taking the director’s chair. This time around, a health insurance executive becomes the latest target of a particularly personal series of tests, forcing him to confront the consequences of decisions that have affected countless lives.
The 4K edition adds the new featurette “The Murders Continue: Kevin Greutert on SAW VI.” Existing extras include filmmaker commentaries, Jigsaw Revealed, The Traps of SAW VI, A Killer Maze: Making SAW: Game Over, director’s diaries and interviews.
Then there is Saw VII, better known to longtime fans as Saw 3D: The Final Chapter. Greutert returned to direct this entry, which puts Bobby Dagen, a man who claims to have survived one of Jigsaw’s games, directly in the killer’s crosshairs after his carefully constructed story begins to unravel.
The new release adds “Will You Survive Until the End? Director Kevin Greutert on SAW VII,” while legacy extras include commentary tracks, deleted and extended scenes, 52 Ways to Die, production footage and interviews.
All three films were scripted by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, continuing the increasingly complicated saga surrounding Jigsaw’s legacy and the people willing to carry his work forward.
For collectors who care about what’s happening under the hood as much as what’s happening on screen, Lionsgate is also giving the trilogy a significant audio and picture upgrade. The extended versions feature Dolby Atmos audio, while the theatrical cuts use DTS HD Master Audio 5.1. Saw VI and Saw VII are also specifically listed with Dolby Vision.
Three movies. Three new 4K releases. An awful lot of bad decisions.
If your Saw collection has been waiting for these chapters to get the 4K treatment, Nov. 10 is going to be a very good day for your shelf and a very bad day for anyone who has to explain why there are this many Saw movies in the house.
