If there’s one thing horror movies have taught us, it’s that heading out to an isolated farmhouse is rarely a good idea. Add a washed-up metal band, questionable drugs, creepy locals and a whole lot of bad decisions, and you’ve got the makings of one seriously strange horror show. The new trailer for JUMP SCARE gives us a taste of exactly that, delivering a blood-soaked blend of backwoods terror, heavy metal attitude and grindhouse-inspired comedy.

Directed by Donnie Hobbie, this female-driven indie splatter-comedy follows a struggling metal band called Jump Scare as they travel to a decaying farmhouse where legendary rock group Blitzgasm supposedly vanished years earlier. Hoping to write the album that will finally make them immortal, the band soon discovers that their biggest problem isn’t writer’s block. It’s everything waiting for them out in the sticks.

The trailer promises plenty of bloody mayhem, bizarre humor and body horror, with JUMP SCARE embracing the kind of rough-around-the-edges energy that made grindhouse cinema such a wild ride. It’s a strange collision of punk-rock egos, metal culture and horror-movie madness, and we’re certainly curious to see how far this one takes things.

JUMP SCARE arrives on VOD December 22, 2026.
