Japanese horror is getting a new home release this November as Cleopatra Entertainment brings The Invisible Half to North American DVD on November 10, alongside a digital release on select platforms.

Written and directed by Masaki Nishiyama, the supernatural horror film follows Elena Takahashi (Lisa Siera), a half-Japanese, half-British student struggling to fit in at her new school in Japan. Targeted by classmates because of her mixed heritage, Elena’s isolation takes a terrifying turn when she discovers a malevolent spirit stalking her.

There’s one disturbing catch: the entity can only be seen through her smartphone camera and heard through her earphones. With no easy way to prove what she’s experiencing, Elena must face the haunting while dealing with the prejudice and bullying surrounding her.

Blending supernatural scares with themes of alienation and self-hatred, The Invisible Half explores the horrors that can follow someone both inside and outside the classroom. Fans of Japanese horror classics like Ringu and Dark Water may want to keep this one on their radar.

The November 10 DVD release includes both the English-dubbed version and the original Japanese-language version. Digital availability will vary by platform.
