Get your battle vests and high tops ready because DEATHGASM II: GOREMAGEDDON, the sequel to the always epic metal/horror flick DEATHGASM, has just unleashed a brutal new trailer and is coming to theaters on Sept. 29, followed by VOD and digital on Oct. 13. This is one rager you do not want to miss.
Directed by Jason Lei Howden, DEATHGASM II: GOREMAGEDDON brings back the gloriously unhinged combination of heavy metal, horror comedy, and practical gore that made the original such a favorite among genre fans. The new film picks up with Brodie, played by Milo Cawthorne, still trying to get his life and music career back on track.

Official Synopsis: Years after surviving the demon apocalypse of the original film, Brodie (Milo Crossman) is washed-up, broke, and stuck in small-town purgatory. But when he learns that NoizeQuest, a battle-of-the-bands competition, is coming to his town, he sees a shot at redemption – and maybe even a second chance with his old beau, Medina (Kimberley Crossman). One problem: his drummer is missing an arm, and the rest of his band is, well… dead. Luckily, Brodie still has pages torn from The Black Hymn, so raising his bandmates from the great beyond is just a riff away. But with every chord comes blood, guts, and the kind of apocalyptic chaos that only Deathgasm can unleash.
The sequel reunites Cawthorne with Kimberley Crossman, James Joshua Blake, Sam Berkley and Daniel Cresswell, all returning from the 2015 original. Joining them are Kieran Charnock, Harrison Keefe, Maggie Nicole Robertson and WWE legend Adam Scherr, better known to wrestling fans as Braun Strowman.
There is also plenty of metal behind the camera. Matthew Kiichi Heafy, frontman and guitarist for Grammy-nominated metal band Trivium, composed the film’s original score, giving GOREMAGEDDON another serious dose of heavy metal credibility.
The original DEATHGASM arrived in 2015 and quickly carved out a place for itself among horror’s modern metalhead favorites. The film premiered at SXSW and earned plenty of attention for its combination of practical gore, demonic mayhem and an obvious love for heavy metal culture.
The critical response was solid as well. DEATHGASM currently holds a 65 Metascore, with the majority of listed critics giving the film positive reviews. It was the kind of movie that knew exactly what audience it was making, and after nearly a decade, that audience finally gets another round.
DEATHGASM II: GOREMAGEDDON made its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in 2025, where it received plenty of attention from horror critics. The new movie isn’t simply resting on the reputation of its predecessor, either. GOREMAGEDDON has already made the festival rounds, including screenings at Fantastic Fest, ScreamFest, FrightFest, Sitges and Monster Fest.
